Why Wasatch for Raman

Raman Results you can Trust

Bespoke Raman Systems

Raman system developed by Raman users for Raman users

Nobody has measured more challenging Raman spectra with our spectrometers than we at Wasatch ourselves. Pushing the Wasatch Raman systems to their limits, we develop the advanced Raman tools to overcome those limits. From temperature stability and fluorescence reduction to miniaturization and quality control, the Wasatch team ensures that these Raman instruments remain at the forefront in sensitivity, reproducibility, configurability, ease of use, and data transparency. What is Raman Spectroscopy?

Sensitivity

More signal, higher throughput, faster measurements

Raman scattering is inherently weak, so a Wasatch Photonics system is optimized end-to-end, from objective lens to detector, for maximum photon throughput, capturing more signal while minimizing losses. High sensitivity is achieved through a high-efficiency holographic grating coupled with a high collection angle (low f/#) optical bench. The result: reliable detection of weak Raman signals and low concentrations in short acquisition times.

Reliability, Robustness, Repeatability

Reproducible Raman measurements

Raman systems need to deliver consistent Raman spectra day to day, unit to unit, even with changing environmental conditions in the field. Only then will the analysis generate reproducible and reliable results. The Wasatch transmission optical design is intrinsically insensitive to small angle changes, making it robust against thermal changes or vibrations, ensuring stable calibration. Intensity and wavenumber corrections are built-in for better then 99% unit to unit reproducibility.

Configurability

Match the right Raman system to your application

As every Raman application is unique, a one-size-fits-all spectrometer is no fit at all. By choosing the most appropriate bench size and the best excitation wavelength for your application, finding the optimum compromise between spectrometer throughput and spectral resolution, selecting the ideal balance between flexibility and convenience, and deciding on the detector cooling level that your signal needs, you can step by step match the Raman system to your application.

Ease of Use

From box to measurement in less than 5 minutes

Wasatch designs Raman systems and software to be intuitive and easy to use. Built by Raman users, for Raman users, we want our own system setup and measurements to be as easy and accurate as possible so yours are too. Connect via USB and all calibrations load automatically—use Auto Raman and you’re ready to go. Choose between the convenience you want and the control you need. Wavenumber, intensity, baseline corrections at a push of a button, powerful fluorescence and noise reduction, or a customizable plugin architecture for your own data analysis – in a free software package.

Data Transparency

Data access when you need it, automation when you want it

Scientists need access to raw data for full transparency. Training Raman analysis models requires reproducible data workflows, and clinical applications cannot rely on black-box algorithms. But Raman users also want the convenience of automatic data collection and analysis. With Wasatch Raman software, you can have the best of both worlds. Both the graphical Enlighten software as well as the software development kits give full access to raw data and advanced analysis features. For ultimate transparency, the software is open source.
