High-Quality VPH Gratings and Spectrometer Products

Market leading OEM products

Wasatch VPH gratings and low f/# spectrometers combine high optical performance with industrial robustness and unit-to-unit reproducibility.

For over 25 years our durable, high efficiency and low polarization dependent VPH gratings have been at the heart of medical devices and industrial lasers. Today, our transmission gratings are being designed into more applications by more customers than ever before. They are trusted, as Wasatch is trusted to deliver our OEMs competitive performance.

Since 2010, Wasatch has been using those same gratings in its own innovative, industry-leading portable Raman and OCT spectrometers. With 10’s of thousands of units in the field and with 100s of OEM customers, these enabling spectrometers are at the heart of a growing number of customer products serving an ever-expanding set of emerging applications.

Configurable Spectrometer Designs

Design philosophy built around configurability

As we understand that no two applications are the same, we design all our core products with configurability in mind. This is further facilitated by Wasatch being vertically integrated, having the ability to configure both the VPH grating and the complete optical bench. Spectrometer configurability also applies to laser choice, with multi mode, single mode and no laser options offered, along with different detector cooling options, which allow optimization of price, performance and power draw. Furthermore, with our open-source software, configurability also applies to spectrometer control and data processing.

Dedicated OEM Engineering Resources

Knowledgeable, experienced and dedicated engineering resources

The most critical stage in the OEM product journey is engineering collaboration. Success is driven by the close partnership between our customers’ engineering teams and Wasatch Photonics’ experts, working together to bring concepts to market. Under dedicated project management, our engineers support each OEM program through every stage gate, ensuring progress against technical, budget, and timeline objectives.

At Wasatch, we have strong and growing optical, mechanical, electrical, software and application engineering functions, meaning we can parallel path several OEM projects by level loading resources. Through continued investment from our parent company, N FOSS & Co, we continue to invest in this area, building engineering capacity to serve our growing OEM customer demand.

Capabilities in Design, Prototyping and Scale of New Products

The right team to help bring your product to market

A successful OEM product launch requires the commitment of every part of the organization. At Wasatch Photonics, we understand this responsibility, and every team member takes pride in being able to positively impact our OEMs, their products and their customers to make a difference in society.

This mindset shapes how we build our teams and how we operate. It’s why you don’t get to interact with just sales engineers, but supply chain, manufacturing engineering, quality and operations through the OEM process. It’s why our OEM product development stage gate process exists too. With the right products, the right processes and most importantly the right people, we can confidently say we have the capabilities and experience to be your OEM partner from first idea, all the way through to the scaling manufacturing.

Application Expertise

Scientific curiosity to enable your application needs

It is the intersection of engineering and science that ultimately determines the success of a measurement or application. Having great hardware is vital, having knowledge of how to best use that hardware to provide the most accurate and most reliable answer is even more vital.

This is where Wasatch comes into its own, its application scientists and engineers live for this challenge. It is their passion, they think as a photon travels and as an electron is generated to help you optimize the spectrometer, the sampling accessories, the data acquisition and processing to help you have a competitive advantage in your product development.

Driven by scientific curiosity and deep application expertise, our team is ready to help you unlock the full potential of your technology.

Innovation is a Wasatch Foundational Principle

Technology roadmap driven by a commitment to innovation

Whilst most OEM projects and products come from configuring our existing product portfolio, we know that having vitality in our technology roadmap is key to ensure we continue to offer cutting-edge solutions to our OEM customers. As such, we are continuously innovating with new product ideas and validating new technologies as they become available. This is something that is also near and dear to the heart of our parent company and their backing allows us to continue to invest in what’s next.

We welcome your ideas, challenges, and vision for future products and applications. Together, we can collaborate to shape the next generation of innovative solutions and create lasting success in emerging markets.

A commitment to quality you can trust

At Wasatch Photonics, performance goes beyond the product – it’s built into our engineering partnership, quality systems, and commitment to your success.
