Team & Culture

At the heart of everything we do at Wasatch in a transmission grating. Its purpose is to provide clarity and to separate the broad spectrum of information it receives into concise, discrete, easily discernable details. Its role is to provide color, without reducing the intensity of the information received, with a goal of helping to facilitate better, clearer answers. At Wasatch, we encourage everyone to think like a VPH grating, such they are not just at our heart, they define our DNA and inform our minds. This all serves to create an open culture, one underpinned by our LASER values.

Future Vision

Built on Partnership, Driven by Innovation

Since our inception in 2002 in the Wasatch Mountains of Logan, Utah, Wasatch has always focused on the enabling capabilities of VPH gratings and VPH-derived technologies. From the beginning our customers applied our hardware with their own expertise and know-how to solve difficult problems. It is these partnerships that opened new markets, where we were active by default.

In the early days our business was solely VPH gratings, however, with the challenging times associated with the Telecoms down turn, the company had to pivot and in 2010, we opened our first North Carolina facility to focus on Raman and OCT spectrometers, we did this because our customers wanted this from us, they led us into that direction. It is this customer pull into new and emerging applications that ensured the Wasatch journey continued to expand and flourish through the first quarter century of this millennium.

As we look back, in the afterglow of the successful transfer of ownership from our founders to the FOSS family, it is incredible to reflect on the twists and turns of the company and the markets we have served. This can be summed most succinctly by the fact that 90% of the Wasatch business today comes from applications that did not exist 20 years ago. This excites us, this guides us and we look forward to sharing the next chapter of our story with you.
