Cobra 1600

Superior depth and contrast for highly scattering samples

  • 240 nm bandwidth for high resolution at long wavelengths
  • 25% greater imaging depth than 1300 nm OCT in highly scattering tissues
  • Premier optical design with superior SNR, subpixel resolution, and image clarity
  • Proprietary VPH gratings with low polarization dependence and high efficiency
  • Near-diffraction-limited optics for minimal roll-off
  • OEM-ready with robust and compact construction

The Cobra 1600 offers superior imaging depth and enhanced image contrast for highly scattering samples. Visualizing deep structures can be limited in penetration depth and contrast, particularly for samples with high scattering power and low water content, such as lipid-rich tissue, dental structures, and even paints and rubber.

As the first off-the-shelf 1600 nm OCT spectrometer, the Cobra 1600 gives you access to an optical window with enhanced depth penetration and high contrast with high axial resolution, and it is compatible with readily available fiber-optic components. Our proprietary high-throughput design offers the sensitivity and speed needed for 3D deep-tissue imaging to study the hippocampal formation and characterize atherosclerotic plaques, or for non-destructive testing.
